This technique has been adapted from an old Taoist meditation that consisted of a lengthy poem translated from the Chinese.
On first reading the poem and the energy claims, I simply didn’t believe they could be true. My curiosity won in the end and I experimented with the text, eventually shortening it considerably – and attained excellent results with less verbiage.
In this exercise you will activate the lower energy circuits of the Chi (energy) body.
Here at last is an energy procedure that must be done while flat on your back. Be either in or on your bed – a couch, or even on the floor. A good time to practice is at the end of the day for ten minutes before you fall asleep. If you take an afternoon siesta, try it as you drift off. However be warned – along with restoring vim and vigor it has a reputation for increasing the libido!
Try it also when feeling ‘pooped’ after a jog or any other sustained vigorous exercise. Immediately collapse on your back and do a few repetitions of the Energy Sea technique – useful also for working out with weights – it enables a more rapid recovery between sets. If you’re in a gym – just lie back on the bench and no one knows what’s going on in your head!!
The Energy Sea Technique
1) Lie flat on your back with your legs out straight and arms beside you on the bed.
2) At first read silently and eventually commit to memory the following:
“This energy Sea,” (as you breathe IN and up)
“This flowing Chi,” (as you breathe OUT and down)
“From the point below my navel,” (as you breathe IN and up)
“To the soles of my feet.” (as you breathe OUT and down).
3) Keep repeating the above verse and breath pattern over and over for five to ten minutes before falling asleep. You may need up to ten days (often less) before the energy kicks in. With some people the effect happens instantly.
The first sensations usually occur in the feet which begin to get hot or tingle; then eventually you’ll notice a definite flow of energy traveling from the feet, up your legs and into the belly button. Once this happens, try placing your hands gently on your midsection over the navel; this will intensify the energy and heat in the Power Center.
Give this strange inert exercise a fair trial. Do it for ten days to get your lower energy channels operating, then it will work for you instantly whenever you need it.
